Missouri Commissioner of Higher Education Zora Mulligan has appointed two members to the state’s Proprietary School Advisory Committee. Lute Atieh and Juliet Crowder will each serve a three-term.

The seven-member committee advises the Missouri Department of Higher Education on the administration of the proprietary school certification program and makes recommendations on standards of operation for the private career schools.

The department currently certifies about 150 proprietary schools in Missouri.

Atieh is the chief operating officer of the American Business and Technology University, St. Joseph. The school offers certificates and degrees in business and computer technology. Atieh earned a bachelor’s degree in software engineering from the American Business and Technology University.

Crowder is the founder and owner of Healthcare Education, St. Louis. The school offers non-degree programs in allied health, including nurse assisting, coding and billing and medical assisting. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Fontbonne University and a master’s degree in business administration from Ashford University.
