Registration deadline: Feb. 22
Join the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Complete College America for a workshop dedicated to the corequisite initiative for math and English. The workshop will be held Friday, March 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Jefferson City at the Capitol Plaza Hotel. There is no registration fee to attend this event. Faculty, administrators, and advisors involved with corequisite course implementation throughout Missouri are invited to attend.
Register through the CCA registration website and complete the form electronically by Feb. 22. Attendees may include faculty from math and English departments, in particular those teaching or planning to teach corequisite courses, as well as advisors and administrators involved in corequisite-at-scale programming.
The corequisite initiative aims to increase gateway course completion within a student's first year of college, by enrolling entering students into college-level math and English courses. Corequisite provides those who need additional help with a concurrent course or lab that offers academic support. This reduces the time to completion and helps cut the cost for students to pay for non-credit bearing courses.
