High School Counselors and Teachers
High school guidance counselors, teachers, and other administrators and mentors play an important role in helping students prepare for college, and the Missouri Department of Higher Education (MDHE) has the resources to help you do just that.
FAFSA Frenzy, a program of College Goal SundaySM, provides students and their families free professional assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Since 2004, this program has helped more than 14,000 Missouri students file the FAFSA. The event brings together several key professional audiences, including financial aid officers, high school guidance counselors and administrators, and college access professionals. This year 86 FAFSA Frenzy events are planned during the months of January, February, and March of 2015.
Note: FAFSA Frenzy is a program of College Goal SundaySM and is offered in Missouri through partnerships between the Missouri Department of Higher Education (MDHE) with the Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Personnel (MASFAP), MOHELA, and USA Funds. The College Goal SundaySM program was created by the Indiana Student Financial Aid Association (ISFAA), with funding from Lilly Endowment, Inc., and with supplemental support from the Lumina Foundation for Education.
Missouri College Application Week
Piloted in Missouri in 2013, Missouri College Application Week focuses on helping first generation college students, low income students, and others who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education complete and submit college admissions applications. The program was held in 26 Missouri public high schools in October of 2013 and expanded to 56 public high schools in 2014. For fall 2015, the program will likely be opened up to statewide participation.
