College Access Challenge Grant
The College Access Challenge Grant (CACG) program is a formula grant program that was created as part of the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007 (CFDA 84.378A). The purpose of the CACG program is to foster partnerships among federal, state, and local governments and philanthropic organizations through matching challenge grants that are aimed at increasing the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.
Applying For a Competitive Grant
If your organization is interested in submitting an application to receive a grant under the competitive grant program operated by the MDHE, use the following link to download a copy of the Request for Proposal (RFP) document which contains information about program structure and applicant eligibility. Keep in mind the deadline for the submission of a completed proposal is December 22, 2011. In addition, you must submit a letter of intent to submit a proposal by December 1, 2011 in order to be considered. The department will use the grant to implement a two-pronged approach aimed at increasing the rates of Missourians who attend and succeed in higher education.

Financial Literacy: Develop and distribute financial literacy information to Missouri high school students.

Competitive Grant: Conduct a grant program to build and strengthen outreach activities offered by non-profit organizations that assist Missouri students and families in preparing for higher education.
