Higher education board appoints trustee for St. Louis Community College
New law adds 7th member to STLCC governing board

Rodney C. Gee, Chesterfield, was appointed Feb. 4 to fill a new seat on the St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees.

Legislation signed into law in 2015 directs Missouri’s Coordinating Board for Higher Education to appoint a seventh member to the STLCC board. The appointee will have the same rights and responsibilities as the six elected members of the board.

Gee’s six-year term on the board will begin on April 5.

A native of St. Louis, Gee has been a member of the board of the St. Louis Community College Foundation for the past 13 years. He is the foundation’s immediate past president. He serves as a board member of RX Outreach, an organization that provides discount drugs to individuals and families with low incomes. He also serves on the board of the Covenant House of Missouri, which works to support homeless youth.

Gee retired as a partner at Edward Jones & Company where he worked in human resources for 14 years. He also has held leadership positions at Monsanto, Motorola and Southwestern Bell.

Gee has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Missouri and a master’s degree in human resource development from Webster University.
