Mathematics in Missouri

The Report on Mathematics, by the Missouri PreK-16 Coalition, offers recommendations that can make a difference in the mathematics achievement of Missouri students. These recommendations include:

• Raising expectations in mathematical training of students and in preparation of teachers.
• Strengthening teacher education programs and professional development opportunities.
• Providing incentives and legislation to bring about desired results.
• Increasing public awareness of the importance of mathematics for students at all levels.
