A subcommittee of chief academic officers from public and independent institutions, the University of Missouri System, and the Missouri Department of Higher Education has developed a set of Guidelines for the Articulation of Early Childhood Education Programs.

The guidelines, adopted by COTA in October 2004, identify competencies aligned with agreed-upon standards and titles to use for each academic program within the profession.

COTA encourages Missouri institutions to review and implement these guidelines as appropriate to each institutional mission and scope.
