December 19, 2007 Meeting Notice

Notice is hereby given that the Coordinating Board for Higher Education - Higher Education Funding Policies Task Force will conduct a meeting from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on December 19, 2007 at the Missouri Department of Higher Education in the large annex conference room. The address is: 205 Jefferson Street, Jefferson City, MO 65102. The purpose of this meeting is to review the work of the technical group (HEF-T) on “special initiatives,” and discuss the performance and adequacy components of new funding policies.
The tentative agenda of this meeting includes:
- Discussion of Strategic Initiatives
HEF-T has developed draft funding strategies for each strategic area discussed by the Task Force at its last meeting. Which approaches are the most compelling funding strategies? What are the highest priorities for funding? HEF-T will revise the proposals based on feedback from the Task Force.
- Performance Incentive Funding
What approaches should Missouri consider? Should the performance measures used for incentive funding be the same as those reported for accountability purposes?
- Discussion of “Adequacy” Issues
The Task Force is asked to identify adequacy issues for discussion of the full Task Force.
- Schedule of Activities/Topics for Discussion
January/February 2008: Follow-through from Strategic Initiatives and Performance Incentive Funding and Discussion of Adequacy Investments
March: Review of Overall Strategy with all three components
April: Recommendations proposed by Task Force to institutions
June: Presentation to CBHE
