ATOM:
The MDHE's free disbursing service
ATOM (Automated Transfer of Money) is a profile-driven system that offers institution and lender clients increased functionality and optimal disbursement flexibility. Some of the benefits offered by ATOM include:
- Advanced lender invoicing which allows for disbursement processing the day prior to disbursement.
- Schools can elect to receive disbursements by the day of the week, regardless of disbursement date.
- Schools and lenders can receive rosters, invoices, and other custom reports via the guarantor servicing system web client.
- Changes made in the guarantor servicing system are immediately reflected in ATOM.
- Routine updates ensure timely compliance with CommonLine and other FFELP industry initiatives.
In the ATOM process, promissory notes are routed to the lender and the lender is required to verify receipt of the promissory note prior to disbursement.
If you have questions regarding ATOM, please contact the MDHE's School and Lender Services staff at HE.ATOM@dhe.mo.gov.
Schools wishing to temporarily suspend ATOM transmissions during the holiday break may submit requests by completing and faxing the ATOM School Break Form to 573-526-7730 or e-mailing it to HE.ATOM@dhe.mo.gov at least two (2) business days prior to the implementation of your school break.
