IT Strategies and Implementation Workshop

March 27, 2013 Governor's Office Building, Jefferson City

The IT and Implementation working groups invited Registrars and IT representatives for a full day workshop with nearly 100 attendees present. The first half of the workshop focused on providing background information on HB 1042, the Missouri Reverse Transfer Initiative and the IT working group's recommendations for exchanging transcript information via XML through the National Student Clearinghouse. Consultants from the National Student Clearinghouse provided information regarding their services and answered attendees' questions before a presentation offering valuable insight into strategies for getting XML-ready.

The second half of the workshop focused on implementation strategies recommended to the Steering Committee based on practices already being utilized in Missouri. The Implementation working group assessed all policy recommendations for those in need of implementation strategies. After researching agreements from all reverse transfer MOU's across Missouri, they compiled a list of viable options. The purpose of the workshop was to collect feedback from Registrars and IT regarding potential gaps or barriers to implementing strategies statewide.
